The two-day event featured nearly 50 volunteers and served as a fundraiser for the local organization. Patrons were encouraged to walk through seven tents, each with its own scary theme. Organizers are hoping to make the Haunted Walk into an annual event. The Lakeshore Optimist Club also helped to co-ordinate the event. The groups will meet in the parking lot of Woodland Hills Golf Club, located on County Road 27, just south of Highway 401. The event will begin at 1:00 p.m. and refreshments will be available for volunteers. Gloves, tools, and garbage bags will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own. All are welcome. Students can earn community service hours. The Friends of Belle River are part of Essex Region Conservation Authority's Friends of Watersheds program, and work to improve the health of the Belle River water- shed through habitat restoration projects, cleanup events, and community outreach.
