GESTO RUTHVEN OLINDA MAIDSTONE CROSS The sun shone on St. Mary's Park as St. Mary's Parish team took on St. John's Parish, Woodslee in the first annual softball game Sunday afternoon. After three scoreless innings with both sides retired in order, Maidstone scored a run. Woodslee tied it up but after a few long balls Maidstone went ahead again. During the seventh inning stretch, Fr. Larry Mousseau led the crowd in "Take Me Out to the Ball Game". Umpire Fr. Boutette made some bold calls during this close game. In spite of a ninth inning rally by Woodslee, Maidstone took the win. Following the game, spectators and players were treated to pop and hotdogs. Next summer the game will be played in Woodslee.
