SNOWMOBILE CLUB NEWS DORION CENTRE MEETING The Children's Christmas Party on Dec. 17th was very successful and Santa Claus provided candy and presents for all present. Races were held in Geraldton on Dec. 19th, and lots of racers from Nipigon were present to make their first Racing Rally of the year a success. Results were as follows: 340 cc Art Jalkanen, Jr. Sugar Sugawara, Andre Fortier. 399 cc Pierre Paquette, Art Jalkanen Jr. David Brennen. 440 cc Mike Ranger, Art Jalkanen Jr. Powder Puff Ava Walter, Brenda Stewart, Rose Anne Fortier. It is obvious by these racing results that the N B S Club .has some very outstanding racers in all classes and that with our participation the club builds a good name for itself. There will be a dance at the New Legion Hall. Sat. Jan. 15 with the Casuals providing musical entertainment. Spectators most welcome. Also Bar Racers more than welcome. Some members of the club have volunteered their services for flagman, first aid, track foreman and registration. Without their services, races could not be held. ATTENTION DRIVERS: There will be a Drivers meeting approx. 15-30 min. prior to the 15th race. Rules and regulations specified in the Out. Racing Confederation Rulebook will be adhered to. The decision of the track foreman will be FINAL! Engine size will be checked and flaps at the rear of the track are mandatory. Volunteer your services as a club member at the track site if help is required. When lots of helpers are there, each persons job will run a little bit smoother and a more successful Rally will be held. (Continued on page 8 NO I.) Two charges were laid during the past week under the Liquor Control Act of Ontario. A truck owned by a Nipigon resident was extensively damaged by vandals when left parked on the highway near Hurkett for two days. A Nipigon resident had his vehicle damaged while parked in his yard. Four disturbances have been investigated by members of this detachment during the past week and were settled to the satisfaction of all concerned.
