There is a Stewards meeting on Mon. Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. Presbytery will be holding their Christmas party at Gesstwood Camp on Tues. Dec. 12 at noon. The noon hour Advent Service for Dec. 13 is at the Christian Reformed Church with Clare Bondy as speaker. Lunch will follow. Get well wishes are extended to all those who are not well. Christmas Eve Services for both churches are as Weather in our area over the weekend is more like what we should have for the first of December. Not all that rain and fields and ditches flooded. As we enter the last month of the year we reflect back on all that has happened this past year and we will welcome another year. Where did it go? Happy birthday wishes on Saturday to Edward Sauve as he becomes a teenager; on Sunday to Faye DeVries as she celebrates another year, pop into Knapp's to wish her many more healthy years; on Monday to Fred Wright as he celebrates #76. Happy anniversary wishes to Arn and Lenore Palmer as they celebrate on Wednesday. The Pleasant Valley Community Club Christmas Potluck is on Saturday evening at 5 p.m. Bring along a dish and join in for a great meal and cards will follow. The lucky winners at last Tuesday's Pepper game were Helen Slavick, Stan Jackson, Elaine Taylor, Mike Foldesi, Doug Fields and Josie Dresser. The regular card party winners were Gerry Caron, Cecile St. Denis, Peggy Kettle, Ron McLean, Reba Knight and Garnet Galloway. Door prizes went to Keith Dresser and Don Ames. Come on out on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. for Pepper and on Saturday at 7:30 for euchre. Erie Shores Quilters' Guild On Nov. 21 the Erie Shores Quilters' Guild held their annual Christmas Dinner with 169 people present.. The scrumptious dinner was at St. John's Parish Hall in Woodslee. The homemade bunnies that each person received were a big hit and were put in a variety of positions at each table. Some were put on shoulders, some were hung on the back of chairs and some even hung off the edge of the tables. At the Christmas dinner the Guild members were asked to bring lap quilts to be given to the Royal Oak Lodge for the residents for Christmas. Over 60 were collected. The winners from the Erie Shores Quilt Show that was held on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 were as follows. Bed Quilt Viewer Choice and Canadian Quilters' Association Rosette to Marion Wiebe and Honorary Mention to Marion Wiebe. Wall Hanging Viewer and Ontario Choice Connections Quilting Rosette to Wendy Carmanico and Honorary Mention to Nancy Trowbridge.
