So I thought if we had one here at a place in the county we'd be able to get people out to help raise awareness about the organ donation situation." The Windsor and District Foundation has been holding similar walk-a-thons in the city for the past five years. Mike Brennan, chapter co-ordinator for the local foundation, said there are approximately 300 people in Windsor and Essex County living with kidney disease. More than half of all Canadians awaiting transplants are in need of a new kidney, Brennan said. John is placing his faith in the people of the county to become organ donors and increase their participation in the foundation's fundraising efforts.
