XXI - NO. 8___________________________________________________ MAY 1989 MEETINGS There will be no formal T.M. H. S. meetings during the summer months, but we look forward to seeing members at the various boatwatching spots around the lakes. Our next regular meeting will be held on Friday, October 6 th, at which time we will feature members' slides of their summer shipwatching activities. * * * * * * * THE EDITOR'S NOTEBOOK The April Meeting featured photographs taken by our late President, Dyke Cobb, as selected by John and Jay Bascom. We had a great deal of fun put ting the programme together, and we hope that the large number of members present enjoyed the show just as much. We were honoured to have Dorothy Cobb with us that evening, and we appreciated her introduction to the show. By the time this issue appears in print, our Annual Dinner Meeting will be history, and we will have enjoyed the special programme prepared for the occasion by Dan McCormick, of Massena, New York. We extend our sincere thanks to Dan for making the trip to be with us on this occasion. We also appreciate the efforts of Bill Wilson, who not only sold tickets but who also selected the menu and made all of the arrangements with the restaurant. Gordon Turner made the necessary plans for the programme. Most of all, we are grateful for the support of all the members and friends who attended the dinner. It is only with your support that our Society flourishes and that we can hold these special events. In the New Member Department, a hearty welcome goes out to Robert MacAdam of Goderich, and to Capt. Lyle Smith of Southampton. * * * * * * * AFFILIATED WITH THE M AR IN E M U S E U M OF UPPER C A N A D A ISSN 0318-014X
