thoso who thought that because summer activity months dont lend themselves for reading times It would not be successful Since that time however the school facilities have proven to be a popular visiting grounds for some families in the vicinity with many children making weekly visits with their parents to pick up a supply of reading material which will take them through until their next week return Books to stir the imaginations of the very young child those to satisfy the thirst of learning and adventure for those in between teenage reading material and current best sellers fiction and delightful picnic was brought to a thundering stop recently when the ladies of United Church group one held their annual picnic at the Rock wood Conservation Park After being transported to the park by Mrs Mrs A Root and Mrs Oscar Drijber the pot luck luncheon supplied by the members was quickly consumed after which a program of prayers hymns bible and other article readings was conducted by Mrs with everyone participating At the height of the afternoon two hours later the picnic which bad begun at was brought to a halt by a deluge of rain and as everyone scattered homeward all additional contests and games planned for the occasion had to be forgotten Rockwoodonians are happy to see Sy DeVreis back on the mend after his ten day visit to the Guelph General Hospital Family celebrations were at a peak last Saturday when Don and Anne Parke and their family and Mr Saunders from Wales arrived for a family picnic at the Monty Root home Conservation park swimming and outdoor were the order of the day and it was great fun A busload of parents and players took off from last Saturday night to attend the Ontario Rural Softball Association playoff game in Bradford between the Bradford
