Congratulation to the players who made the Ravens. This year's coaching team consists of Head Coach Drew Mulcaster, by Shawn assisted Davidson, Erik Burden, Bradt, Aaron Ryan Mulcaster and Team Manager Shawn Carswell. The players are: Brady Heil (30), Dustin Ridley (1), Justin Melo (2), Luca Acchione (3), Mitchell Carswell (4), Zachery Heil (5), Tyler Bellaire (6), Eric Lee (7), Evan Bechard (8), Chase Rossini (9), Joshua Davison (10), Kyle Tremblay (13), Jonathon Spidalieri (14), Cody Spitse (16), Brandon Flood (17) and Johnston Armstrong (18). The team showed their talents during a few exhibition games, posting a record of two wins and one loss. Pee Wee A Tim Hortons The true test would be the start of the regular season, especially the game against the 2005-2006 All Ontario Champions, the Riverside Rangers. On Friday, Sept. 22, the highly anticipated game against the Rangers brought the fans to watch. After a few minutes of play, you could already tell the Ranger team was very disciplined, could handle the puck in any situation and could take advantage at any time if their opponents made mistakes. Our boys tried to play the Rangers' game but, with the new enforced rules taking effect, the Rangers capitalized on our penalties and scored many times. Mentions go to Kyle Tremblay for his checking, meeting each Ranger in his area of domain and taking the body to the ice. Great scoring chances did pay off when Justin Melo dumped the puck in the Rangers corner, as an aggressive Eric Lee forced and continued the play in the Rangers end, Captain Danny Vivier netted the first goal, with assists by Derek Vivier and Kevin Boggs. Boggs also nabbed the second goal, assisted by Danny Vivier. Danny Vivier then scored his second of the night, with assists by Boggs and Jesse Breault. Windsor scored six goals, making the final score 6 to 3. Matt Lachine made many great saves for Essex. With Lachine in net on Saturday night, the Ravens came out hard with a strong first period against Tecumseh. At the end of the second period, Essex was down 2 to 0. But they came back to tie the game in the third with a goal by Quinton Rossini, assisted by Doug Lambier and Derek Vivier. Danny Vivier also scored with assists by Breault and Boggs. The Ravens would like to thank their sponsors, Canadian Computer Distributors. Dresden Raceway's final program draws crowds Dresden Raceway presented the season's final program Sunday and it proved to be exciting and rewarding for local teamsters. Raconteur, a threeyear-old gelding owned by Mike Langlois of Maidstone, picked up the win in the final event of the afternoon. With Dresden dash champion Brad Forward in the sulky, Raconteur set a new lifetime mark of 200.1, capturing an $8,000 conditioned race over Dimes Dividends (Al Cullen) and Dr Sharkey (Essex driver Mark Williams). C Lulu Trompeur, owned, trained and driven by Pat Barr of Essex, had to settle for fourth place money after a tough trip from the fifth post position. Pilars Emerson, owned by Roy Boggs is always a great competitor on the Dresden half mile surface but, boxed in most of the way, had to settle for show position with Essex reinsman Gene Piroski at the controls. Trainer of the year honours went to Leon Mansfield with over $55,000 in 45 starts. DIVORCE... OUELLETTE Greenwood Centre 974-0688 drawing the puck to an awaiting Raven forward, Chase Rossini, who scored the only Essex goal. Brady Heil showed he had heart, not giving up, as he saw much black rubber throughout the night. The final score was Riverside many, Essex 1. Our next battle was on Sunday night against the LaSalle Sabres. Great goaltending by Dustin Ridley from the start kept Essex in the game. We had our chances to score but faced a similar goalie at the other end, making great saves on Flood's and Brandon Johnston Armstrong's wrist shots. Once again our aggressive play, as well as LaSalle's, kept the men in stripes busy calling many penalties due to the enforced rulings. Tremblay used his force, meeting head to head with the Sabres forwards. Mentions go to Cody Spitse, Chase Rossini, Jonathan Spidalieri, Eric Lee and Tyler Bellaire who showed that their size on the ice doesn't matter, but their hearts do, as they checked and forced the Sabres into making errors. Late in the third our team efforts paid off on a rush by Josh Davison down the right side of the ice. He carried the puck into Sabres territory, passing it to the front of LaSalle's goal. With a rush of players from both teams, the Ravens line of Eric Lee, Chase Rossini and Brandon Flood forced the puck into the Sabres net. Final score, LaSalle 4, Essex 1. (Intersection of E.C.
