Submitted photo B&Es investigated Police are investigating a rash of home and vehicle break-ins in Acton on the weekend and earlier this week. ·Two laptops, includ ing a Dell and a Pavillion and a hard drive, valued at $2,900, were stolen from an unlocked Elizabeth Drive residence. ·A Fender guitar and an undisclosed amount of cash were stolen when someone entered McKenzie-Smith Bennett School through a classroom window. ·A teenaged male rid ing a BMX bicycle and wearing dark clothes is suspected of entering and ransacking three cars parked on Gould Cres cent. · A car parked on Peel Street was scratched on the trunk area, and two vehicles parked on Vic toria Avenue and one on Police/Fire Report Birchway Place were entered and ransacked. Police remind people to lock cars and homes, including the garage. Faulty alarm panel Acton firefighters advised a Holmesway Place resident to have their alarm system checked after an unknown problem set off the alarm at 9:25 on Sunday night. Burn permit required A Matthew Court resident was advised to apply for a burn permit before conducting any more burns following a com plaint at 7:34 on Sunday night. Vehicle rollover A 56-year-old Georgetown was charged with impaired driving and having more than 80-milligrams of alcohol in 100-millilitres of blood after a vehicle rollover at 9:45 on Friday night on Highway 7 near the Cedar Springs Motel. The driver lost control and a new Toyota Corolla ended up on a front lawn. Occu pants of the house helped the driver, who suffered minor injuries, get out of the car and waited until help arrived. False alarm Dust generated by drywall sanding set off a smoke alarm at a residence on Highway 25 between 15 and 17 Side Road at 3:39 last Wednesday afternoon. Flames spread A fire on the Valencia Farm, on 15 Side Road between 15 and 17 Side Roads, that was thought to be extinguished flared and spread into a nearby corn field and a woodpile at 3:39 last Wednesday afternoon. Acton firefighters extinguished the fires and advised the owner not to conduct any future burns.
