Agricultural Building So far the response from the majority of Acton merchants and businesses has been good All types of donations ranging from comer markers for cemetery ptots to free board and lodging for one dog a wig for the ladies a rug for the floor turkeys for Christmas dinner suckers for the kiddies and socks and underwear to keep the children warm have been made Members expressed very well and should be completed by the end of the year Disappointment There was one piece of disappointing news A surrey earned out on a proposed piece of property for the new residence revealed there was insufficient water and the soil was not suitable for this type of building so once more the residential committee are scouting around for suitable land Ail members of the North Halton Association are rather disappointed that after so many months of planning and with visions of a residence drawing near this unexpected turn of events should temporarily postpone plans for the much needed residence Plan dan Mrs J is taking a course on kindergarten for the retarded child and it is hoped in the near future to start such a class In one section of the workshop Anyone having or educate the public In the needs and capability of these people and to raise money to make the life of the retardates more in teresting and fulfilling They enjoy working at the Adult Rehabilitation Centre ARC and also enjoy recreational activities such as bowling and dancing with which the local group assists At the November meeting at the Public Library on Nov elections will be held for of fice
