place a hydro through the north west corner of Township has left township councillors both puzzled and angry The proposal led to speculation on the part of Deputy Reeve Gordon that the plan could be a cover up for a super highway to connect Hamilton to a new jet airport which could be built north of the township The proposal came to light at a recent Nassagawcya Planning Board meeting when hydro officials presented the board with their plans to cut a 740foot wide swath from on the west corner of the township up to the Seventh Line on the north end of the township in order to run a high voltage line through At night meeting of council the subject was brought up by Deputy Reeve Agncw He suggested a meeting be called of all members of both the councils and planning boards of Nassagaweya and Townships to plan a course of action since the line affects both these areas As Mr Agncw pointed out in other townships where the proposed hydro line runs it follows concession line and docsn affect property owners to a great extent but in Nassagaweya and si inch Townships it cuts through at an angle running through farm lots and private lots Where they cut through the land at an angle they have to expropriate lind and in many cases they will be expropriating valuable farm land or even new homes said Mr When they came to us they tried to pull the wool over our eyes said the deputy reeve but when I told them I had over SO years experience in the electronics f eld they seemed to get confused and when 1 asked them various technical questions about the proposed line they hedged even further The strange part about the whole thing is that when I took a ruler and followed the proposed route of the hydro line it crossed Highway at Highway The idea that it could be a cover up for the construction of a type to a new jet north of our township crossed my mind at one point A definite dale for the joint meeting has not yet been arranged by the two councils iU hospitalizes
