p.3 NAVAL FETE at the GRAND RIVER - Entertainment Given by Officers of Naval Establishment at Grand River - Capt. Pring in charge; dinner, a play, and dancing until 5 a.m., followed by another meal, 30 couples dancing, came from Long Point, York, and Niagara frontier. (1/2 column)
The Governor of Ohio has recommended to the Legislature of that State to afford encouragement to the contemplated canal from Lake Erie to the river Hudson - and the Legislature have appointed a committee on the subject.
Tenders called to improve water communication between La Chine and Kingston, by the course of the Rideau River, navigable for Boats drawing 2 feet water and ten feet wide - also for boats drawing 3 feet water and twelve feet in width.. 20th Feb., 1817.
We the under subscribers do intend to sell the schooner Wellington, now lying at Mr. Bartlett's Wharf, at public auction, to the highest bidder, on Thursday the Twentieth day of March instant, at twelve o'clock, unless previously sold.
