Midget Major CAW Club 200 CONTINUED FROM PAGE 19 Three minutes into the second Dan Bacon scored from Tyler Campbell to tie the game but Belle River took the lead back midway through the period. Belle River scored 33 seconds into the third period. Less than a minute later Dan Bacon tied the game once more. A delayed call on that goal left the Rink Rats short. One minute later we had a tied game thanks to Spencer and Nick F. Although our specialty is killing penalties, the last one crippled us. Belle River scored with a minute left in the game. The final score was 5-4 Belle River. Game #3 - The boys started strong but could not seem to pull together on Saturday in Belle River. Despite individual efforts, the fans did not see the shooting, passing and team effort that we have been accustomed to. Belle River took the game 3-0. Game #4 in Essex on Sunday night was much more enjoyable to watch. The first two drives to the net came from Essex. Shortly into the first, Monty put the puck in the net through a tangled mass of bodies. Belle River made it 1-1 midway through the first. Both teams took numerous penalties and Essex enjoyed a couple of 53 advantages. Belle River made it 2-1 in the second period. With 1:42 left in the third, Essex put six skaters on the ice to try and tie the game but Belle River clinched the final game and the series 3-1. Thanks to the coaching staff for a fine season and all the parents who helped out. Congratulations to the team for getting to the quarterfinals.
