Local young people are already preparing to head off to university and college. Parents are starting to sing, "It's the most wonderful time of the year," while picking up school supplies. I made it out to the Comber Fair on Friday night. They always seem to be able to get lots of young ladies competing for Miss Comber Fair. The Essex County Steam and Gas Engine had their 22nd annual show last weekend. If you missed those two events and would like to take in some agriculture happenings, then stop by the Essex County Plowing Match Competition and Farm Equipment Show on Sat. Aug. 19 hosted by Paul Lantin. The farm is located at the corner of Cty. Rd. 46 and Rochester Twln. (one mile west of Comber). Free admission and parking. Also featuring is the Jr. Farmers pancake and sausage breakfast They will be cooking hamburgs and hotdogs for lunch. Come out and support this hard working group of young people.
