Siemens employee Annika Morgenstern plants her tree on Earth Day Tuesday. Siemens Canada was named one of the country's greenest employers for the third consecutive year by Mediacorp Canada Inc. The award recognizes employers that lead the nation in creating a culture of environmental awareness in their organizations. Robert Hardt, Siemens Canada president and CEO, said the award was an honour before he took part in the tree planting -- with assistance from employees and Oakville Mayor Rob Burton. In all, 300 Siemens employees across 15 Canadian cities, including Oakville, planted 1,500 trees -- bringing the company's total to 4,000 since 2012. Siemens also presented Tree Canada with a $48,000 sponsorship.
