6/ March 2024 The South Marysburgh Mirror By Dorothy Speirs Those of you who have visited the Milford Library recently will have noticed a big change. The renovations to the children's section of the library, initiated by the Friends of the Milford Library, are well underway. The collection of musical instruments, which had been housed in our library, has now been moved to the cen- tral branch, leaving the back section of the building free for changes. New shelving, a fresh coat of paint, and increased space will all make this a welcoming area for the children of our community, where they can enjoy a number of ac- tivities like coloring and games put in place by our librarians. The renovations are the product of a collaboration between CEO Barbara Sweet and her wonderful colleagues and the Friends. Back in December, many of you attended our very suc- cessful sale of surplus musi- cal instruments, books and music. With the proceeds from the sale, we're plan- ning more improvements to our children's area over the coming months. So thank you all for your con- tinuing support of our efforts. And don't forget. The Friends are always looking for suggestions as to how we might improve our library, whether it be the building it- self, the programs or the book selections. If you have some ideas, just jot them down and put them in the suggestion box which you'll find on the table in the library. CChhiillddrreenn"ss SSeeccttiioonn RReeffrreesshh UUnnddeerrwwaayy
