Applications are available at St. Mary's School or at the back of the church. The parents of grade two students who will be receiving their First Communion will meet on Tues. The February Mission project for Guatemala Hope is to build a cement block house for an elderly couple and to provide the families in El Triunfo with a year's supply of vitamins. You may assist with monetary donations or with bottles of vitamins. Your help is greatly appreciated. The traditional blessing of throats for the feast of St. Blaise will be offered after the 7 p.m. mass on Sat. Feb. 3 at St. Mary's. Let's hope the groundhog misses his shadow on Feb. 2 and we can look forward to spring. This will be my last contribution to the Maidstone Cross as I have been travelling more frequently in my retirement. I have enjoyed my years as correspondent.
