December 8 a meeting of the newlyformed activity group of the Canadian Cancer Society Acton Branch was held at the home of Mrs Harriet Helwlg The activity for the evening was to pack a Christmas box for the Princess Margaret Hospital In Toronto This consisted of 11 pair men socks pair adult slippers pair children slippers three comfort pillows 21 neck scarves two baby sweaters five children gifts 14 ladies gifts ladies gown set four men gifts and three articles of used clothing Materiali bought Most of the above were made from materials purchased after the first bake sale In July Also donated by volunteer members were 36 individual Jars of jam and 12 individual Christmas puddings dozen cookies and dozen squares Some of these Items will be used for gifts to patients at Christmas Other articles ore required for the day today care of the patients Donations were much appreciated by the group The idea for this new workshop group was conceived last spring at the pot luck supper held for all canvassers ana volunteers for the Canadian Cancer Society It is a small group and can use much support Anyone who Is Interested In participating in any way particularly In donating some sewing or
