Andrew Bowman of Acton The wedding was conducted by Rev Peter at o clock on Nov 26 The bride is the daughter of Mrs Stuart Sinclair and the late Stuart Sinclair of Willow St She la employed at Building Products of Canada Ltd in Acton The groom Is the son of the late Mr and Mrs J Bowman of Acton He is a salesman with Christie Brown Co In Toronto Carries carnation The bride entering the church on the arm of her brother looked radiant in a floor length A line dress of white satin crepe The gown was accented with a front panel of French lace and the train which fell from the waist In a pleat was also trimmed In the same lace The sleeves were long and puffed with Victorian cuffs The headpiece which held a shoulder length veil was made of satin crepe and French lace and was In the style of a Victorian of tangerine white and green carnations Mrs Doug Hobaon friend the bride was the matron of honor Miss Vlcki Holmes Acton niece of the bride Hiss Anne Kroner Acton niece of the groom were the bridesmaids and Miss MacKay Bramalea niece of the bride was the flower girl In avocado green They were all gowned alike in dresses In a similar style to the brides They were green the home of Mrs S Morrison Thursday Dec 3 Mrs president was in the Chair for a short business meeting and Mrs lsobel Mc Donald read the minutes of the last meeting and gave the financial report The girls at P A misc shower was also held by The Calvlnettes a church group the bride used to teach A stag was hosted by Doug of Guelph on October 30 at the home of Mrs Sinclair Willow St On Tuesday December 8 a meeting of the newlyformed activity group of the Canadian Cancer Society Acton Branch was held at the home of Mrs Harriet Helwlg The activity for the evening was to pack a Christmas box for the Princess Margaret Hospital In Toronto This consisted of 11 pair men socks pair adult slippers pair children slippers three comfort pillows 21 neck scarves two baby sweaters five children gifts 14 ladies gifts ladies gown set four men gifts and three articles of used clothing Materiali bought Most of the above were made from materials purchased after the first bake sale In July Also donated by volunteer members were 36 individual Jars of jam and 12 individual Christmas puddings dozen cookies and dozen squares Some of these Items will be used for gifts to patients at Christmas Other articles ore required for the day today care of the patients Donations were much appreciated by the group The idea for this new workshop group was conceived last spring at the pot luck supper held for all canvassers ana volunteers for the Canadian Cancer Society It is a small group and can use much support Anyone who Is Interested In participating in any way particularly In donating some sewing or
