Anna Chapman and his children Elwood of Flint Michigan Arthur Elmer and Stanley of Rockwood and Gordon R Guelph Mr Harris also had two other children by whom he was predeceased Agnes and John and one brother Wasley The son of Samuel Harris and Susannah Stair the ninety two year old gentleman was a farmer who had spent all his lifetime in the village operating his farm Having attended the Rockwood Public School he graduated from the Ontario Agricultural College I in the year 1898 A charter member of Session the United Church 1925 Mr Harris was a past president of the and Everton Branch of the Canadian Bible Society He had spent many years as a teacher and superintendent of the Methodist Sunday School and later the Rockwood United Sunday School He served as the chairman of the Board of Trustees for the School Section No from 1922 to and for many years was an active choir member of the Methodist and United Church With a history of good health and an active mental knowledge of background and early years until the day he died Charles Harris was able to conduct his field and tractor work as was required until last summer when he confined his activities to daily walks to the bam He became ill early in the New Year and after a 12 day hospitalization with chest cold complications he died in the Guelph General Hospital The demise of Charles Harris represents the tremendous
