FOREIGN INTELLIGENCE

Eisenach, Sept. 3.

The day before yesterday a calamitous event took place here. About 9 in the evening, a convoy of ammunition was passing through our town. The three first waggons, which were mostly laden with cartridges for cannon, took fire : the explosion was terrible : the adjoining houses were blown into the air with a dreadful crash. The fire caught both sides of the street called the Monengasse, which was wholly destroyed. 38 persons have perished.
